Made it to Belize!
So I made it to Belize ok. I’ve been working pretty much non stop since I got here though! It’s been crazy. First couple days we prepared for the students and then they started arriving. We have some from Columbia, Peru, Panama, Mexico, Belize, and Ecuador. I got my job assignments; teaching beginner English, coordinating work for students, and maintaining and coordinating transportation. The transportation is definitely the most time consuming. Jeff says it involves all engines and machines as well so... the chipper, cement mixers, skid steer, back hoe, tractor... anything with a piston or a wheel basically. It’s been fun, and I’ve been learning a ton! I have 4 boys in my house that I also am in charge of. It’s been an interesting dynamic since every one of us is from a different country. When I was stateside I talked to my parents about an article I read from AWA and about what I dream of doing in the mission field. I got here to Belize, and within a week Jeff (my mentor?) literally out of the blue starts talking about running planes up the rivers in South America... which is my dream. We start talking and we are now looking for an ultralight plane kit to construct for my project here at MOVE, in the hopes that when I get to my mission post I can have a plane kit shipped and construct it where I’m at. That’s the plan at least! It’s crazy to see how God continues to lead in the plan he has for my life. I was talking to Jeff yesterday about my medical exams I had to take and how it looks like i wouldn’t fly this summer which means it wouldn’t be till 2019 till I’m able to finish my pilots license. When I go to the states in the end of May I will have just over a month to work on my pilots license before I head out for some mission work before the fall semester here at Move. If I take my medical tests then, the FAA won’t get back to me until after I leave again for another 6 months. So Jeff said I should fly up to the states for 2 or 3 days, take the evaluation and then come back so when I head up to the states at the end of this course, that I will have the results and will hopefully be able to fly. I started praying for money, I already had almost enough, but that was for the cost of living here for the next 3 months... I was praying and talked to a friend and just felt that God was telling me to step out in faith and he would provide. So I talked to my parents and got the tickets. Thankfully they will be down in TN at the time so I will get to see them too! I’m in the states for less than 48 hours, and Wednesday I take the tests from 8 AM till at least 6 PM. If y’all wouldn’t mind adding this evaluation to your prayer list, it would be greatly appreciated. God has a plan and I know he can provide the money and the wisdom to pass this medical evaluation if it’s his will.
