MOVE graduation, travels, studies in the states.

24/10 Officially into the rainy season! It's been raining since Friday and it's Tuesday. Everything is flooded where you walk and it only stopped for an hour or so yesterday evening and a few minutes this morning. It's also starting to really cool off here. One of the staff said it can get down into the 60s at night, to where you need a blanket... I thought I was gonna be hotter here then Bolivia but seems to almost be the same. I get cold when it gets below 75 these days. So rain and cold. Been working on engines and pulling them apart. I pulled apart a chainsaw today. I think next week we are pulling apart a bike engine. We did an outreach this past Sunday and I was the "electrical energy consultant". I went to people's houses that asked and would review their electrical bill and then tell them ways that they could cut back on the bill as well as check to make sure their electrical appliances were running well and not burning up energy. That was interesting. Then Sunday night we did visitation around town again. Talked to some drug dealers for about 20 minutes, as they sold their marijuana to people, and they smoked a few joints... so that was interesting. One of the guys told us how he smuggles stuff from Mexico to Belize all the time on his motorcycle so he can make money for his 5 kids. Then we met another guy that was obviously drunk and telling us he was a security guard for John McAfee and that we would have to pay him to tell us information. Of course we didn't, lol. But it was interesting and we definitely saw more of the needs of the people. One of the guys talked about "politricks" which made us laugh. Anyways I have to go do homework but I haven't written anything since the last email I sent, so I needed to get some stuff down 12/11 Wow... been a while since I wrote. We are coming back from our mission trip right now and what a crazy week! Had to get the whole bus ready on the Sunday before we left Monday morning and it took forever to pack and fix the vehicles up. Thankfully we were ready, had no troubles on the way down. I spent the mission trip fixing small engines, and then prepared to come back this morning. Got everything loaded. And we are heading back. So much more I could write but I'm too tired. Had a blast of a week with the staff kids and kids in the Mayan community. Love every second of it and didn't really wanna leave. Now I'm just looking forward to just over a week when I get to head up stateside to visit family! 5/12 Wow... almost been a month! Stuff's been so crazy! Made it back to the states. Traveling was awesome like always! My friend Nayeli and I, left from Corozal, Belize, where the students were all chilling, and caught a van to Chetumal, Mexico. Well... to the border. Then we walked across and caught a taxi into Chetumal for some food and to get money. Then we caught a taxi to Bacalar, or 7 colors lagoon in English. Made it in time for sundown but couldn’t find a place to store our bags so when we rented a two person kayak to go out on the lake we had the boat company watch our bags! The sundown was perfect! Then we caught a taxi back to Chetumal, ate dinner, and after just sitting down and talking for a while, we said bye. She’s going to Familia Feliz in Bolivia, where I was at last year. I caught the overnight bus from Chetumal to Cancun and caught a taxi to the beach to watch the sunrise! Lucky me! A sundown and sunrise back to back. Anyways! When I got to the airport I had to wait outside cause the airport (no joke) was 50 degrees I’m going to guess. They pump the AC way to hard in there! When I finally went in and waited 2 hours for my flight, it was so cold to sleep or even sit, I had to walk around. I honestly considered stuffing paper towels in my shirt to keep me warm. Anyways! Enough complaining! Made it to Detroit safe, my brother and sister picked me up on their way to my parents' house, and we finished the last 3 hours together! Got to my parents house Tuesday around midnight I think. Spent Thanksgiving with family and then headed out Thursday night for the 12 hour drive to SAU! Made it home with my sister Friday morning sometime! So nice to be home! Besides my visit last December it has been a year and a half since actually being home in TN! This is where I truly belong! Spent a few days with Bekah and Daniel around Chattanooga, as well as seeing many friends! Some friends I haven’t seen since I left college. It was encouraging to hear friends and other college students saying they were keeping up with my emails! Anyways! Finally got here to Laurelbrook Academy where Rich, the guy who is letting me use his plane and live here for free, set me up. So thankful for all he does! Don’t have to pay for rent or food or plane rental. Only have to pay for the flight instructor and fuel for the plane. Also, he set me up with a retired FAA instructor and tester, who has unlimited free time! We’ve gotten together for studies and flight every day this week so far! I went in to have my physical. I was nervous because I know my eyesight isn’t the best, and I recently found out that you can’t fly while using Adderall, my ADHD medication. But, during the physical, the doctor notified me that I can’t even get my pilots license if I have ADHD, whether or not I’m taking medication. And she also officially labeled me as colorblind but said I can test out of that. The ADHD is harder though. She recommended I go to a neuropsychologist for testing to really see if I have ADHD. I’m nervous that I won’t pass... I know I have it but have to try super hard to not show symptoms of it, for this testing... anyways! If ADHD shows up on the test then I guess I can kiss flying goodbye. But! My parents encouraged me! Even getting that specific doctors appointment was a miracle, because besides that one slot on Monday, they were booked clear through the end of February. So my parents reminded me of all the miracles God has been doing for me, all the doors that he has opened. How he led me to Jeff, how he led me to Rich and then just told me not to worry about it and allow His will to be done, which helped a little. Anyways! This should get you all caught up! Please pray as I make calls and set up appointments to get this testing done, that God’s will will be done in all this. Moving on! My instructor rocks! Like I said, I schedule with him almost every day for flight or studies. I’m already getting the hang of take offs and some navigation banking and stuff. Landings definitely still need some help. Ok! That about sums it up! Thank you all for your prayers as I continue following whatever God has planned!
